Q18Written answer

How is the skeleton of a bird well-suited for flying?

Show solutionHide solution
Worked solution

Ans: The skeleton of a bird is well-suited for flying because the wings of the birds are attached to their thorax. Also, their light organs like the lungs and the sacs are at a higher position. The position of their heavy muscles lies in the center of their body. Due to the structure of the body of a bird, the air resistance is also reduced. In this way, a bird’s skeleton is well suited for flying.

Worked solution

Ans: Since the two snakes A and B are slithering on sand, the snake which has more loops in its movement is very likely to move faster since snakes use left and right crawling to move forward which is known as slithering. Therefore, snake A will move faster as it has more loops in its movement.
